Total Gym and Barre: Hybrid Workout

Barre meets The Total Gym

Over the past 3 years, barre classes have taken the exercise industry by storm as a way to sculpt and mold muscle tone in very targeted ways. The classes combine small, isometric exercises at the barre with light weights on the floor, using small, repetitive moves to accomplish these goals. Classes also incorporate mat exercises to target the core muscle group. The fact that the workout is low impact can attract students with various joint issues however the class is far from easy. The intense focused moves targeting every muscle group can leave you wobbling out of class wondering “what the hell happened in there”. And there lies the beauty of barre, to work you to the extreme with minimal weights and primarily working with your own body weight. Since I am an avid fan of both the Total Gym and Barre, I thought a Barre/Total Gym workout would be a blast. Below are my Barre meets Total Gym exercises!
