Get Moving: Create a Killer Playlist of the Best Workout Songs

Workout Playlist
Music fills the body with energy and an internal drive to accomplish success. It can fuel a workout with the motivation needed to either get moving, finish the workout or push harder when your body becomes fatigued. Having a good workout playlist of your favorite tunes can be a key factor to a successful session.

Why Does Having a Playlist Help a Workout?

• Music can keep the focus going strong on the workout
• Music creates motivation as the rhythm goes strong
• Music keeps your mind entertained and excited for the next workout
Music, in my opinion, is what compliments a workout.

What Are BPM?

Beats per minute, or BPM, are the pace of music measured by the number of beats occurring in 60 seconds. This is important when working out due to how fast or slow the song plays and for the type of workout you will be doing.

For example, the workout music for a challenging cardio workout, usually has a faster BPM with a good beat to keep your energy going strong; but a lower-impact workout such as Pilates or yoga, may have a more-calming playlist with a slower BPM.

It’s nice to have the option to choose the music you enjoy listening to based on the genre, style and BPM for the activity being performed.

How To Put a Workout Playlist Together

The strategy is simple and can be done in a variety of ways by finding the music genre that appeals to you the most.
1. Know the music you like and songs that will keep your mind and body entertained through a tough sweating workout.
2. If you already have you favorite tunes in your music library, create a playlist folder, and download them to your listening device.
3. If you do not have a music library, there are several music apps to find the music you love.

Music Apps to Help You Create Your Workout Playlist

iHeartRadio is a free, all-in-one digital radio service that allows you to listen to your favorite radio stations live with more than 1,500 stations to browse through.

Pandora is an Internet radio site that creates radio staions of similar artists and music based on the searches you enter.

Spotify allows you to listen to music on your desktop, laptop and mobile for free. It is a site that contains millions of songs listed by title, artist and or genre, and allows users to customize playlists.

Pro Tip: Hear a Song You Like? Shazam it!

If you are out somewhere and hear a song you like and want to find out who sings it along with the title, Shazam it! Shazam is an app that can listen to the song being played and tell you the name and artist of the during the moment you hear it.
